Recently Diagnosed or Relapsed? Stop Looking For a Miracle Cure, and Use Evidence-Based Therapies To Enhance Your Treatment and Prolong Your Remission

Multiple Myeloma an incurable disease, but I have spent the last 25 years in remission using a blend of conventional oncology and evidence-based nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle therapies from peer-reviewed studies that your oncologist probably hasn't told you about.

Myeloma – Clear HPV

A statistically significant association was established between HPV and multiple myeloma. This study supports the hypothesis that HPV can infect lymphoid cells.

According to the research linked below, HPV increases the risk of a multiple myeloma diagnosis. Further, AHCC has been shown to clear HPV naturally. I believe that AHCC is a type of multiple myeloma therapy.

I am a long-term survivor of a blood cancer called multiple myeloma.

While the studies don’t fully explain what the relationship between MM and HPV/AHCC, there is enough information to push me to take evidence-based, non-conventional therapies that have been shown to fight multiple myeloma as well as the HPV virus.

I supplement with curcumin. According to an article below, curcumin may “control” my MM. Maybe curcumin is why I have maintained complete remission since 4/99.

Keep in mind that curcumin is nortoriously difficult for the body to absorb. Scroll down the page to read about the most bioavailable curcumin formulas.

The fact is that there is a long and growing list of evidence-based,  non-conventional therapies that are cytotoxic to multiple myeloma. Further, there are foods that research has shown to stop the growth of multiple myeloma.

I have remained in complete remission from my MM since 4/99 by living an evidence-based, nontoxic, anti-MM lifestyle through nutrition, supplementation, bone health, lifestyle and mind-body therapies.

Please watch the video below to learn more about the evidence-based, integrative therapies to combat treatment side effects and enhance your chemotherapy.

Human papillomaviruses (HPV) are associated with multiple myeloma.

“Human papillomaviruses are small DNA tumor viruses, and are associated with epithelial neoplasias. Although Human papillomaviruse are believed to be exclusively permissive in terminally differentiated squamous cells, we have previously identified HPV sequences in lymphoid tissues of five patients. Because this result suggested that the range of the host virus cells could include cells of lymphoid origin, we used PCR and in situ hybridization to analyze nonepithelial tissues of patients with multiple myeloma from two institutions. A statistically significant association was established between Human papillomaviruse and multiple myeloma (p<0.001). This study supports the hypothesis that Human papillomaviruse can infect lymphoid cells.

Have HPV? How to clear the infection naturally

“The human papillomavirus, or HPV, is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the United States. In fact, it’s so common that nearly all sexually active men and women get it at some point in their lives.

There are over 100 different kinds of HPV, but only some of them can cause serious health problems like genital warts or cancer of the cervix, vagina, vulva or anus…

Testing positive for HPV does not automatically mean you will get cancer. Some studies estimate that 50 percent of those infected with HPV will clear the virus within eight months— and 90 percent will be cured within two years. It’s only when your immune system isn’t able to fight off the infection that some strains of HPV can persist and possibly lead to cancer

There is no cure for the HPV virus, but there are several things you can do to help your body clear the virus, and lower your chances of it persisting and turning into cancer…

As your immune system is the first line of defense against HPV, boosting it can help fight off the virus naturally

The first one is B vitamins— especially Folic acid and B12. I would recommend Folic Acid 1000mcg— [the] best form is methyltetrahydrofolate (MTHF). And For B12, I would recommend at least 1000mcg per day in the form of methylcobalamin…”

“I would recommend 400iu, comprised of mixed tocopherols including beta and gamma tocopherols. Most of the vitamin E sold is delta tocopherol, so you want to make sure you’re getting a vitamin E with “mixed tocopherols” that includes the beta and gamma forms to get the results you’re looking for.””

Mushroom extract, AHCC, helpful in treating HPV

A Japanese mushroom extract appears to be effective for the eradication of human papillomavirus (HPV), according to a pilot clinical trial…

AHCC is a readily available nutritional supplement that works to improve the innate immune system. Human and preclinical studies have shown that AHCC increases the number and/or activity of Natural Killer (NK) cells, dendritic cells and cytokines, which help the body fight off infections and block tumor growth….”

Curry: Curcumin offers potential therapy for cancers caused by HPV

“One of the herb’s key active ingredients — an antioxidant called curcumin — appears to have a quelling effect on the activity of human papillomavirus …Human papillomaviruse is a virus that promotes the development of cervical and oral cancer. There is no cure, but curcumin may offer a means of future control…”

Vitamin B12 & Vitamin D for HPV

Vitamin D and Human papillomaviruse- A study published in a 2010 edition of “Nature Immunology” found that vitamin D is essential for activating killer T cells of the immune system so they can detect and eliminate invading pathogens, potentially preventing serious infections. Killer T cells, which are produced in the thymus gland, have the potential to eliminate viruses such as Human papillomaviruse. Further, there are anecdotal reports that vitamin D applied directly to warts suppresses their growth…”

The Most BioAvailable Curcumin Formulas

“Based on a review of these studies, it is evident that better bioavailability of formulated curcumin (CU) products is mostly attributed to improved solubility, stability, and possibly low first-pass metabolism”

A search of the Pubmed database for the word curcumin yields 601 studies spaning health topics from multiple myeloma and colorectal cancer, to chemotherapies that synergizes with CU, to Alzheimer’s Disease, arthritis and more. Based on years of reading studies and personal accounts, I think it is safe to say that CU supplementation is safe and relatively inexpensive.

I have read about myeloma patients taking daily doses of CU from 400 milligrams to 8 grams (1000 milligrams = 1 gram). By almost any measure, CU is a safe, inexpensive wonder drug.

The only challenge is that CU is famously difficult to absorb in the body. In other words, a person has to mix curcumin with some sort of fat (coconut oil, chocolate, etc.) or take a brand of curcumin capsule that is already formulated to be more “bioavailable” in order to derive the full benefit of CU.

The study linked and exerpted below reviews different formulations of CU. The study itself lists the three most bioavailable formulation/brand of CU and I’ve added an excerpt from a further review from Consumerlab.com that lists four additional bioavailable brands of CU.

Curcumin

CU is a bright yellow chemical produced by some plants. It is the principal curcuminoid of turmeric (Curcuma longa), a member of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae. It is sold as an herbal supplement, cosmetics ingredient, food flavoring, and food coloring.[1]

Bioavailable curcumin formulations: A review of pharmacokinetic studies in healthy volunteers.

“Curcumin is a widely studied natural compound which has shown tremendous in vitro therapeutic potential. Despite that, the clinical efficacy of the native CU is weak due to its low bioavailability and high metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract. During the last decade, researchers have come up with different formulations with a focus on improving the bioavailability of curcumin. As a result, a significant number of bioavailable curcumin-based formulations were introduced with the varying range of enhanced bioavailability.

Most of the talk about myco/mushroom products that suppress or eradicate HPV focuses on AHCC but take a look at this study (Pubmed) that shows a combination of Shiitake and Maitake extracted compounds is even more immuno-stimultaing than AHCC : Immune-enhancing effects of Maitake (Grifola frondosa) and Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) extracts , https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4202470/

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for sending that study. I am going to write another post to compare myco/mush to AHCC. I wrote the first post mainly because HPV is a known risk factor for my cancer, multiple myeloma. I thought that taking a supplement to clear my HPV was an easy, inexpensive therapy.

Having said that, I wish that the study that you sent took it a step further by doing the same testing on HPV. But no problem, I think the study is important enough for me to write about.

    thanks again,

    David Emerson
