Recently Diagnosed or Relapsed? Stop Looking For a Miracle Cure, and Use Evidence-Based Therapies To Enhance Your Treatment and Prolong Your Remission

Multiple Myeloma an incurable disease, but I have spent the last 25 years in remission using a blend of conventional oncology and evidence-based nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle therapies from peer-reviewed studies that your oncologist probably hasn't told you about.

Is CBD Radioprotective?

Is CBD radioprotective? If so, myeloma patients undergoing radiation treatment could benefit from CBD supplementation.

Like chemotherapy, radiation therapy can be a useful therapy tool in the management of MM. Also like chemotherapy, radiation can cause serious side effects.

While undergoing my own conventional therapies for multiple myeloma in ’94-’97, radiation zapped several lytic lesions while damaging nerves and possibly my bladder. Past research has identified

  • melatonin
  • resveratrol
  • hyperbaric oxygen therapy

as non-conventional therapies shown to protect the MM patient while healing radiation damage.

Are you a MM patient? Are you considering radiation therapy? Let me know. Email me at David.PeopleBeatingCancer@gmail.com with your questions.

Thank you,

Cannabidiol restores hematopoietic stem cell stemness in mouse through Atf2–Lrp6 axis after acute irradiation

Bone marrow serves as the residence of hematopoietic stem cells and is recognized as one of the most radiosensitive tissues. Exposure to acute radiation leads to severe damage to bone marrow hematopoiesis which can be fatal, while few clinically applicable medication or specific therapeutic targets have been discovered.

In this study, we found that the administration of cannabidiol significantly enhanced individual survival and restored the reconstitution capacity of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells within 14 days after irradiation.

Single-cell RNA sequencing analysis demonstrated that the expression levels of genes associated with stemness along with Wnt and BMP signaling pathways were restored by the cannabidiol treatment through the upregulation of Atf2, a transcription factor possessing multifunctional properties. Atf2 upregulation induced by cannabidiol treatment potentially upregulated the expression of Lrp6 to improve the stemness of hematopoietic stem cells.

Further functional experiments validated the crucial role of Atf2 in regulating multilineage differentiation potential of bone marrow hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.

Overall, our findings provide evidence for a promising radioprotective function of cannabidiol and Atf2 as a candidate therapeutic target for acute radiation-induced hematopoietic injury, thereby paving the way for future research in the field…

Cannabidiol mitigates radiation-induced intestine ferroptosis via facilitating the heterodimerization of RUNX3 with CBFβ thereby promoting transactivation of GPX4

“Our study demonstrated that the application of CBD is a promising strategy to simultaneously achieve radioprotection on normal tissues and synergistic radiotherapy effects on tumors…”

Cannabidiol (CBD) in Cancer Management

“Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the main constituents of the plant Cannabis sativa. Surveys suggest that medicinal cannabis is popular amongst people diagnosed with cancer. CBD is one of the key constituents of cannabis, and does not have the potentially intoxicating effects that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the other key phytocannabinoid has.

Research indicates the CBD may have potential for the treatment of cancer, including the symptoms and signs associated with cancer and its treatment. Preclinical research suggests CBD may address many of the pathways involved in the pathogenesis of cancers. Preclinical and clinical research also suggests some evidence of efficacy, alone or in some cases in conjunction with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC, the other key phytocannabinoid in cannabis), in treating cancer-associated pain, anxiety and depression, sleep problems, nausea and vomiting, and oral mucositis that are associated with cancer and/or its treatment.

Studies also suggest that CBD may enhance orthodox treatments with chemotherapeutic agents and radiation therapy and protect against neural and organ damage. CBD shows promise as part of an integrative approach to the management of cancer…”
