A restful night’s sleep is essential for general health and happiness. Adults should get 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night, according to experts. You will feel relaxed and energized the next day if you get enough sleep.

A good night’s sleep also helps memory development, muscle and tissue growth, and repair, and keeps you away from getting sick.

CBN is often used to help people sleep better and feel less anxious. However, more research is needed to fully understand the effects of CBN on sleep and other physical and mental health issues.

Consider the following before taking a tinctures supplement for insomnia:

1. Consult your doctor

If you’re thinking about taking valerian, make sure it won’t interfere with any other prescriptions or supplements you’re taking. And if it’s safe to use with any health or medical concerns you may have.

2. Drug interactions are possible

Other sleep aids may be enhanced by taking Valerian. Some prescription drugs can be affected by Valerian. It’s also possible that it’ll interact with other supplements you’re taking.

3. Side effects may occur

Though valerian is considered to be quite safe, it might cause adverse effects such as headaches, dizziness, gastrointestinal issues, and insomnia. If you’re pregnant, Valerian might not be the best choice.

It has also not been tested to see if it is safe for children under the age of three. Avoid using valerian if you have liver illness. Do not drive or use dangerous machinery after taking valerian because it can make you drowsy.

4. Medication may not be the answer

Begin with sleep-related lifestyle choices such as avoiding coffee late in the day, keeping a regular sleep schedule, exercising regularly, and winding down an hour or two before bed.

In addition, cognitive behavioral therapy, such as substituting worries about not sleeping with happy ideas, may be more successful. There could also be serious underlying issues, such as sleep apnea or periodic limb movement disorder, that need to be addressed.

5. Dosage is unclear

Valerian appears to be most effective after two or more weeks of consistent use. It’s unclear what dose is most helpful or how long you should take a particular dose because dosages vary in trials including valerian and some studies were not rigorous.

How Can CBN Help With Sleep Disorders?

The effects of CBN on sleep disorders are still being studied. Some patients who take CBN for chronic pain claim that it helps them sleep better. It’s unsure if these patients sleep better as a result of their pain therapy or because CBN affects their sleep directly.

Other early research on CBN and sleep issues has yielded promising results. However, not everyone benefits from CBN use in the same way, and different dosages may have different effects. CBN in low amounts is stimulating, whereas CBN in high quantities is sedating.

Anxiety and CBN

Although anxiety is not a sleep problem in and of itself, it can lead to poor sleep quality, insufficient sleep, and sleep disorders. CBN Tincture can be used to treat anxiety-related problems since it soothes the neurological system.

Approximately all of the individuals who took CBN to treat their anxiety reported feeling less anxious.

Excessive Daytime Sleepiness Disorder and CBN

Excessive daytime drowsiness disorder affects those who find it difficult to stay awake during the day. CBN could be a good way to get up and stay awake. More research is needed to discover how CBN consumption affects alertness and sleepiness at different levels and in different ways.

However, if your sleeplessness persists, speak with your doctor about possible causes and treatment options.

This question is off topic but is there any research that indicates that message therapy aids in reducing pain or helping those who with multiple myeloma? If so, could you direct me to the site?

    Hi Lori-

Yes, there is research that evaluated massage as a pain management therapy for MM. I have undergone massage myself for different types of pain- bone, joint, muscle, etc. I recommend anti-inflammatory supplements such as curcumin as well as massage, exercise, sauna, stretching.

This would be a great question for the online group Beating Myeloma. You’ll get my reply as well as others in the group that deal with MM pain.
