Multiple Myeloma – Alternative Therapy

Gerson, Poly MVA, CHIPSA, Insulin Potentiation Therapy, Laetrile, etc. etc.- I have studied alternative therapies for multiple myeloma for years and never found credible evidence of success-

The first step to understanding alternative therapy for the multiple myeloma patient is to define those terms used to classify different types of therapies such as:

  • Conventional or traditional- FDA approved therapies including surgery, radiation and chemotherapy-
  • Complementarythose evidence-based therapies that support or enhance conventional therapies-
  • Alternative- any therapy shown to be cytotoxic to myeloma used by the patient instead of conventional therapies such as surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy-

Examples of conventional therapies for multiple myeloma are chemotherapy such as Revlimid, Velcade, Daratumumab, etc. Local radiation to zap a myeloma lesion or a procedure such as kyphplasty to stabilize the patient’s spine.

Examples of complementary therapies are

  • intravenous vitamin C,
  • curcumin and/or
  • angiogenic nutrition.

These therapies have all been shown to enhance the efficacy of traditional myeloma therapies. All three therapies have been shown to by cytotoxic (kill) to myeloma on their own, however, no one that I know of has ever pursued any one of these therapies, forgone conventional therapies completely and lived.

The one alternative therapy that I have proof of efficacy is Antineoplaston Therapy (ANP) from the Burzynski Research Institute in Houston, Tx. I know of this therapy’s efficacy not because of studies I’ve read but because of my personal myeloma experiences.

Years of research and writing about possible multiple myeloma alternative therapies-

If you know if an evidence-based alternative therapy then by all means, let me know. I am always on the lookout for information about therapies for our incurable blood cancer.

Thank you,
